Attendee information panel

The Attendee information panel provides extensive information about the attendee's system and provides control over the attendee's audio conference connection and audio and video devices.

Opening the Attendee information panel

To open the Attendee information panel click on the attendee's name or the information icon on in the lower right of the Attendee display.

Opening the Attendee information panel

The Attendee information panel contains seven blocks:

1. Camera preview block

Although the Vantage Point camera preview is disabled in the tech support mode, this block allows you to remove the attendee from the meeting room and toggle High Definition on and off on the attendee's web cam.

1. Camera preview block

2. Location block

If the IP address can be identified, the location will be indicated on the map.

2. Location block

3. Video and audio device block

3. Video and audio device block

Camera(s)

This section allows you to remotely select the attendee's camera. To refresh the list, click on the refresh icon.

A dark gray background indicates the enabled camera. To choose a different camera, click on the camera name.

Microphone(s)

This section allows you to remotely select the attendee's microphone. To refresh the list click on the refresh icon.

A dark gray background indicates the active microphone. To choose a different microphone, click on the microphone name.

Why is this useful?

Resetting an attendee's video and audio remotely can help you troubleshoot and even resolve potential technical problems with minimal attendee involvement.  Here's a sample technical support scenario using these tools.

4. System information block

4. System information block

OS / Browser

If the attendee is using the Adobe Connect Add-in, this section displays the attendee's operating system and "Connect Add-in" as above.

If the attendee is not using the Connect Add-in this section displays the attendee's operating system and browser release:

Version

This section displays the attendee's Adobe Connect version.

Screen Size

This section provides the attendee's screen size in pixels.

Speed Test

After a Speed Test is completed, this section displays the attendee's bandwidth (mbps) and latency (msec) when connected to the Vantage Point server.

To begin the Speed Test, click the arrow icon.

Why is this useful? Tech support scenarios

Having current system information at your fingertips may allow you to troubleshoot or even eliminate potential technical problems with minimal attendee involvement.  Here are a few sample technical support scenarios using the system information block.

5. rtmp block

5. rtmp block

This section provides the attendee's Real Time Messaging Protocol (rtmp) port assignments for Vantage Point and Adobe. This information is useful in diagnosing firewall problems with the Connect meeting.

VP Port: Vantage Point tries to connect first on port 443 and then on port 1935. If neither is accessible Vantage Point will default to HTTP port 80. Vantage Point will highlight the entire rtmp block in orange if port 80 is used.

Adobe Port: Adobe Connect presentations are normally delivered as HTTP data on port 80, while meeting audio and video streams are delivered as RTMP data on port 1935. When users are inside a corporate firewall that blocks these optimal ports, Adobe Connect uses fallback mechanisms to deliver RTMP data on ports 80 and 443. This fallback technology is called tunneling. This tunneling mechanism results in additional overhead that impacts overall throughput and the end user experience. For additional information see the Adobe Connect Help article "Troubleshoot connectivity | Adobe Connect."

6. Adobe Connect server block

6. Adobe Connect server block

This section provides Adobe Connect server connection information including upload and download speeds (kb/s), latency and average transmission speed (msec). (The first three items are also available in the Adobe Connect meeting room via the Connection Status icon.)

Current connection status can be crucial to diagnosing a host of attendee problems. Here's a sample technical support scenario.

7. Audio block

This block allows you to control the attendee's connection to the conference audio.

To connect the attendee to conference audio using the attendee's computer (i.e., via VoIP), click on the Connect VOIP on the right side of the block.

VoIP Audio

If the attendee is connected via VoIP, use this block to disconnect, mute and control the attendee's volume.

Phone Audio

If the attendee is connected to conference audio via phone, use this block to disconnect, hard or soft mute and control the attendee's volume.

Hard Mute mutes the attendee, but does not allow the attendee to unmute. Soft Mute mutes the attendee while allowing the attendee to unmute his or her phone.
