What if my microphone doesn't appear on the Audio Panel list?

The Audio Panel allows attendees to select enabled microphones. If a microphone is connected to your computer but it does not appear on the Selected Microphone drop down, follow the troubleshooting steps below.

Check the microphone connection

  1. Make sure the microphone plug is firmly seated in the appropriate port on your computer.
  2. If the plug is firmly seated, switch your device to a different port.

Open the sound panel

If your microphone still does not appear on the Selected Microphone dropdown, open the sound panel on your computer.

  • On a Windows computer search "sound control." From the sound control panel click on the Recording tab. Right click on the desired microphone and select Enable.  
  • For a Mac, open System Preferences and select Sound. Choose the Input tab. Verify the device is present and selected.

 If your microphone still doesn't appear on the Selected Microphone dropdown, contact your help desk.

Alternatively you can click Switch to Phone if the meeting is set up with an audio bridge. For more information see Audio Panel
