Can you share a few typical scenarios in which the Assistant Panel really shines?

Scenario 1: Session "Ear Break"

Virtual meetings can be taxing on attendees' attention and ears. A short 5-minute "ear break" every hour or so keeps attendees fresh and will re-energize the meeting environment. The Assistant Panel makes this easy. Use the Session >>> Pause function to pause the meeting, set the duration of the pause and display a message during the break. The Session >>> Pause function will turn off the timer and recorder during the pause and automatically restart them when the meeting restarts.

See "How do I pause a session?" for details.

Scenario 2: Setting up breakout groups

Use breakout groups for case studies, exercises, and small group discussions. The VP Assistant Panel makes it easy to set them up.  Do you want to use the same breakout groups in another meeting?  The Assistant Panel allows you to save the breakout group configuraton and use it in subsequent meetings. See "How do I export breakout settings for use in other sessions?" for more details.

Adobe Connect breakout rooms don't allow mixing phone and VOIP attendees. Smart Distribute automatically places attendees into breakout groups according to their audio connection. You can then rearrange the groups by dragging and dropping attendees into different breakout groups. If a phone user is accidentally moved into a room with a VOIP user, Smart Distribute indicates the conflict with a red background.  See  "Setting up breakouts with Smart Distribute" for more details.

Scenario 3: Computer audio problems?

You can connect to the conference audio via computer using what's known as VOIP (voice over Internet protocol). VOIP is easy to use. All you need is a computer with a speaker and a microphone ... and it doesn't cost anything.

Unfortunately, due to bandwidth and latency issues, VOIP audio quality may be sub-optimal and it can be unreliable. The Audio Panel makes it simple to switch from a computer audio connection to a higher quality and more reliable connection via a telephone. If you're using your computer microphone and want to switch to teleconference audio, simply open the Audio Panel and click on Switch to Phone.

See "How do I change my audio settings?" for details.

Scenario 4: Controlling attendee audio

You can quickly mute the audio of all meeting attendees using the Assistant Panel >>> Audio >>> Mute All button.

The rPhone Phone Console, available via the Audio >>> Phone Console button, further extends control over attendee audio allowing the meeting host to adjust attendee volume, mute attendees or even disconnect the audio, all from one central location.

See "rPhone Pod Tools" for details.

Scenario 5: Managing your meeting

The session timer helps you keep your meeting on track as you address attendee questions or sidebar discussions. The session timer can also be used to manage breakout groups. For example, it may be helpful to post a "2 minute warning" alert as the breakout session draws to a close.
